That is me personally, I am not saying that is a fact.Įnhance the software and increase the value of the product they already have manufactured would be my guess. It plays with FOMO and Buyer's Remorse in a way that I fear that is damaging for the product. Because this always increases the doubts of possible buyers: should they buy the new device or wait a few months for the next? It is not that it is a bad thing to have many options, is mostly releasing a new options in a short space of time. But coming out with a new product that's improved at the same price, is not a bad thing IMHO. So on the whole, I think they are doing a good job supporting their devices?Ĭan we complain and want more? Sure absolutely. Would I have liked more memory and ram? Sure.īut we want these devices to improve over time and get cheaper right? How else is a company like Boox with no real software and subscription (eh hem, Remarkable) supposed to do that if they don't release new products?Īnd for the software argument, Boox does provide software updates (no they don't update the version of Android) but most other e-ink tablet makers NEVER update their base software. One could argue that there's too many options, but I'm still totally happy with the original Air 1. On top of that they dropped the price of the non-Plus model. They fixed that with the 2 Plus by putting in a larger battery and the only physical change is a new color way and slightly heavier. The 2 is a nice spec bump but people complained about the smaller battery compared to the Note. I have the Air 1 and love it and literally use it everyday. I don't understand why this is a bad thing? They sell the Air 1, 2 and now 2 Plus.
